Yesterday I had my right thigh lipedema liposuction done with a whopping 7 liters sucked out. You can read more about that here.
Honestly, aside from the pain when I had to get up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night (pain from moving) I slept pretty well since I normally sleep on my left side anyways.
I woke up absolutely toast though. I’m not sure if it was just exhaustion from the surgery since it was tougher than the left thigh, if it’s the pain killer, or the pain is more intense but I woke up ready to go back to sleep. And of course, while I love my husband dearly, I wasn’t very happy with his tendency to book every appointment early in the morning so he can have the rest of the day free.
This time the check up and fitting for my compression gear was at 9 in the morning, so he got me up at 8 so I could get showered and bandaged up which is a process all on its own.
Not Exactly Feeling Guilty for Taking the Disabled Room Now
I think I mentioned yesterday I was kind of feeling guilty about booking the disabled room at the hotel so I didn’t have to haul in shower chairs and other things so I wouldn’t fall over in the shower. Just like with my left thigh lipedema liposuction, after I got the initial compression garments off, I got dizzy, light headed and nauseous all at once. My guilt for taking over the disabled room quickly flew from my mind as I sat there on the shower chair gripping the bar for dear life.
Oh, and can I say having the toilet next to the shower was also a godsend? I could literally lean over and puke up my Tramadol without having to move much.
In the event you didn’t read my day 1 post op from my left thigh, this is all caused from the change of pressure by removing the compression garment. I didn’t have it with my calves, but it was pretty bad with both thighs.
Not a Lot of Tumescent Fluid Leaked This Time Either
Compared to the lipedema liposuction on the left thigh, I didn’t leak all that much this time. I only went through 3 hotel towels and the puddle after going on the toilet was tiny by 11pm the night before and almost non-existent by morning. Also, unlike the last lipedema liposuction surgery, there wasn’t a fountain of red tinted fluid spouting from my knee.

Am I weird if I say I was kind of disappointed?
Appointment for Compression Stocking and MLD
This time I was on painkillers BEFORE getting my compression stocking, so it went slightly better than last time. Also, my leg hasn’t started swelling to the massive proportion that it has last time either.
After I got my stocking and set the time and date for my 1 week check up, it was off to my MLD appointment.
My therapist really, really didn’t want to touch me since I may have threatened to tear her face from her head in very graphic detail. In fact, she’s not in next week and someone else will be doing the MLD. She brought that poor girl in to meet me, explain what was up, and repeated my threat in the exact same graphic details.
We’ll see if that girl calls in sick next week!
Yes, MLD hurt like a fucking son of a bitch. I’m not going to lie. I wanted to rip my therapist’s face off, instead I mangled the arms of her chair while she looked like she’d make a mad dash if I moved towards her face. However, I think it was worth it. My knee still hasn’t swelled like it did last time. So fingers crossed that the pain was worth it!
