Today is the right thigh liposuction day 2 post surgery. Really, things haven’t gotten any easier pain wise.
I really don’t know what’s different, maybe the heat and humidity (and lack of air conditioning in the Netherlands) has something to do with it? Heat makes the blood vessels expand and that could be making things significantly more painful than the 50-60 degree weather we had back in April when I had my left thigh done. What I do know is that the puncture wounds are in some different locations than with the other leg. One of them is directly under the band of my compression stocking which is making things even more painful than it really should be.
However, the pain hasn’t done much to dampen my determination to return to the gym and exercise any less. Day 2 saw me a the gym for a regular session with my personal trainer.
Since my surgeon didn’t believe I was back at the gym day 2 post op on the left thigh, my husband took video of my training session.
The cool thing is, I’ve been benching 40-45kg so I didn’t go down in weight, reps or sets. Really, I didn’t go down in any weights and even though I was tired from the surgery, heat, and whatnot my power and endurance didn’t suffer too much. So that was pretty amazing.
A few hours after the gym, I went out for a rather slow but steady 3.5km walk.
Right Thigh Liposuction Wound Update
So as of today, most of the puncture wounds from my right thigh liposuction surgery have stopped leaking significantly. The ones that are still “leaking” are the ones that are above the compression stocking, and it’s mostly because the top layer is pulled off with the wound dressing plasters.
However, I haven’t had any extra padding or protection on my bed since I got home Thursday. Any of the leaking is minor and the bandages deal with it just fine.
