Post Liposuction Adventure: Gent Christmas Market

Tree Ride at Gent Christmas MarketOn the way home from Paris over my birthday weekend (the weekend of 10 December 2016), we were passing by Gent, Belgium.  Since I love Christmas Markets, we decided to go ahead and stop and visit Gent’s!

I’ve been to quite a few Christmas Markets in the Netherlands and Germany, but after 12 years of living here I never had been to one in Belgium.  In the Netherlands they usually have too much commercial crap that has nothing to do with Christmas, in Germany there are TONS of Glutwijn stalls and some Christmas stuff.  In Belgium it’s food.  Tons and tons of yummy smelling food.

And we had just stopped off for lunch about an hour before.  It was such a crying shame since there was all sorts of things that smelled good, looked good, and I’d never seen before including camel and bear meat.  I did pick up a bag full of macaroons though, that I forgot to put away and the cat ate.  But one of them had just come out of the oven and I managed to stuff that down.

We also went up on the Ferris wheel and saw Gent from above, which was really cool.

Overall we did about 5k of walking after 19k the day before in Disney Paris.  But, it was fun to see so many people enjoying themselves.
