It’s been awhile since I’ve updated, but yesterday I went to Rotterdam to see my surgeon and got my last liposuction surgery date.
Overall, he’s very pleased with the results of my stomach liposuction from back in February (2017). Unfortunately, we still don’t know if all the fat is out since there’s still enough swelling to be firm feeling, but he thinks enough was taken out that the plastic surgeon he’ll be referring me to will do the skin surgery.
We then spoke about what still needed to be done. It will be both of my sides from armpit to hip, my entire back, and a few spots on my lower back/butt that were missed during the butt liposuction.
So why am I doing my entire back? Well, unfortunately, it seems that the lipedema is starting to grow there. My sports bras, which I haven’t changed since my diagnosis (they’re fantastic quality), are starting to bruise by back. Plus, I get sports massages regularly to help stimulate recovery from my weight lifting and that’s starting to hurt in a lipedema sort of way again.
My surgeon agreed that it seems to be growing there, despite my continued caloric deficit, and agreed that it needed to be done.
The date has been set for October 4th, 2017.
Until then, exercise, travel, adventures, and figuring out my back pain!
