This tuna bacon salad is one of the favorites of my family because it’s quick, the ingredients are usually in the house, and it’s incredibly easy.
- Tuna in water
- Bacon
- French or belgian mayonnaise
- relish (optional)
- red onion (optional)
I’m not putting the amount since the ingredients I can get in the Netherlands may be different than what you can get in your location. So your tuna bacon salad will be different from my tuna bacon salad in terms of macros and calories. What I suggest doing is finding a program where you can enter all the ingredients as a “recipe” then get your nutritional information based on the servings. I use the Fitday PC program for my desktop computer, but I believe MyFitnessPal does it too as does numerous apps and web programs.
Anyhow, fry your bacon. Crumble it into a bowl with your tuna and mayo (I like putting the bacon grease in there, if you don’t, make sure you weigh your bacon so you’re not counting additional calories). Add your relish and red onion then put a portion over some greens.
In my house, there’s usually some avocado, cucumber and one or two little cherry tomatoes accompanying the greens.
