14 Days Post Op After Butt Liposuction

Today is 14 days post op after my butt liposuction and all is well.  It’s hard to believe, but I can sit normally today.  It’s not careful getting up or sitting down, I don’t have to gingerly slide behind the wheel of the car, and I don’t have to carefully lay down in a plank position on my bed and lower my hip carefully down onto the mattress.

I don’t want to do a running jump at the couch (that’s in a list of bad ideas), but even going down the stairs doesn’t have to be done as carefully as it was last week.

The bruising on my butt and lower back are almost gone, but the tissue just above my butt on my lower back where the “butt shelf” was is hard as a rock.  Not surprising as it doesn’t get the same compression as my butt cheeks from sitting.  Simply sitting back in my office chair just doesn’t offer as much compression as sitting on the area.

The only issue, which really isn’t an “issue” in the grand scheme of things is the 2 top wounds still aren’t healed.  They’re still oozing white blood cells and open.  We took a picture and sent it to my surgeon yesterday, but he said it can happen.  Especially since I’m very active and that part of my back is moving all the time.  The skin just doesn’t have the chance to close as fast as the other punctures.  Since there’s no redness or pain, my surgeon isn’t concerned at all.

Tonight, for the first time since 2009, I plan on trying to do a little jogging at the gym on the treadmill.  My ankle has stopped hurting and I’m still walking straight, and with 33lbs taken off my body so far I think that I might be able to do a day or two a week jogging a few kilometers.  Nothing crazy.  But we’ll see how that goes.
