WHO is going to recognize lipedema!

The WHO has just recognize Lipedema as an illness (Code EF02.2 in the ICD11)!

Why is this important? Governments, health insurances and tax offices (to deduct self paid surgery, compression stockings, etc) have consistently referenced the fact that not even WHO (the world health organization) has recognized lipedema.  So now that they have recognized it, this is one less excuse to be used to deny paying for liposuction as a valid treatment for the condition.

This doesn’t mean that once the guidelines are updated, things are going to change.  However, I’ve been saying for a few years now that once this happens, things will move quicker than they are now.  Which is barely a snail’s pace.
